SCHOOL SECRETARIES

 

RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal

 

1.  Be a public relations agent for the total school system.

 

2.  Be responsible for the care and distribution of the mail.

 

3.  Schedule appointments for the Principal, staff, and students.

 

4.  Type and duplicate all school related materials as required for the total school operation.

 

5.  Answer the telephone, deliver messages, provide information to students, and make appropriate referrals.

 

6.  Act as building receptionist and direct visitors to appropriate personnel.

 

7.  Be responsible for the activity accounts, using the procedure recommended by the school system's auditor.

 

8.  Prepare all correspondence, announcements, and information for distribution to parents, community, central office, and others.

 

9.  Complete and maintain the necessary reports required by the local, state, and federal agencies.

 

10.  Prepare all reports with accuracy and punctuality.

 

11.  Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, and the Board of Education.

 

 

 205 days per year
